For two days in Montréal, ALL IN brought together the people building, researching, and deploying the next generation of artificial intelligence.

The event welcomed a record 10,000 participants from 50 countries, bringing together researchers, technology companies, enterprises, investors, governments, and AI builders from across the ecosystem.

For 5C, it was an opportunity to be part of those conversations and contribute directly to them.

A major moment for sovereign AI in Canada

One of the most significant announcements of ALL IN came on the first day of the event.

Canada and Germany announced a joint funding commitment of up to CAD $300 million for LawZero, the non-profit AI research organization founded by Yoshua Bengio, to advance its work on safe-by-design artificial intelligence.

The announcement also included plans for LawZero to establish dedicated sovereign compute infrastructure in Canada in partnership with Hypertec and 5C. The infrastructure will provide the advanced computing capacity required to support LawZero’s research at scale.  
5C is proud to be part of this initiative, providing the AI infrastructure and compute capacity needed to support LawZero’s research at scale, while helping strengthen Canada’s AI ecosystem and sovereign AI capabilities.

As 5C CEO Jonathan Ahdoot put it in the LawZero announcement, “Breakthrough AI research needs infrastructure that can perform at the same level.”

Building for the NVIDIA Vera Rubin era

The conversation continued on Day 2 at the NVIDIA AI Pavilion, where 5C’s David Bitton, VP of AI & Product Strategy, and Guillaume Lemieux, Director of Engineering, Data Center, took the stage for a lightning talk on Building for the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Era.

Their discussion explored how each new generation of accelerated computing is opening new possibilities for AI infrastructure, and how thoughtful engineering can help unlock the full potential of what comes next.

As AI systems become more powerful, the relationship between the server rack and the data center is becoming increasingly connected. Power, cooling, controls, telemetry, networking, and compute are evolving together, creating opportunities to design AI factories as highly integrated systems from the ground up.

Designing with the compute roadmap in mind from the beginning gives infrastructure teams the opportunity to prepare not only for what is being deployed today, but also for the generations of technology ahead.

A Fun 5C Moment on the Big Stage

Not every memorable moment at ALL IN was about infrastructure, engineering, or what comes next for AI.

Our 5C socks unexpectedly made their way to the Forum Stage, where the host showed them off in front of an audience of around 1,500 people and joked that maybe AI-powered socks should be next.

It was a fun, unexpected moment and a nice reminder that events like ALL IN are also about the people, the energy, and the small moments that make the experience memorable.

A fitting way to wrap up two very full days in Montréal.
