Hypertec Cloud Takes Flight
2024 marked a pivotal moment for Hypertec Cloud. After its decision to focus on AI Cloud Infrastructure, the business unit experienced rapid growth, solidifying Hypertec’s position as a key player in AI advancement. This year was about tackling the most pressing needs of AI infrastructure head-on and delivering solutions that empower organizations to scale efficiently, sustainably, and with confidence.
In just 9 months, Hypertec Cloud has achieved significant growth, establishing itself as a rising force in AI cloud infrastructure. This momentum reflects the dedication of our team, the strength of our partnerships, and the endless possibilities in the rapidly evolving world of AI-driven computing. A big congratulations to everyone who contributed to this incredible success thus far, I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together!
Solving Challenges, Creating Impact
AI is growing faster than anyone imagined, and the challenges it brings—escalating power demands, the need for rapid deployment, and the push for sustainability, are critical. But these challenges are where you see Hypertec Cloud thrive.
From the beginning, we’ve leveraged Hypertec Group’s decades of expertise in high-performance computing, data center design, and innovative cooling solutions such as immersion cooling, to address these issues directly. This approach has allowed us to attract amazing partners that helped us secure capacity to power hundreds of thousands of GPUs and provide reliable, cost-effective infrastructure solutions for the largest and most demanding AI workloads across North America.
Defining Moments in 2024
This year wasn’t just about growth, it was about leaving our mark and creating something impactful together. One of the defining moments came in September at the ALL IN AI Summit in Montreal, where we announced a major expansion of our infrastructure. With capacity to deploy up to 100,000 GPUs by mid-2025, this bold move reinforced our role as a critical enabler for industries navigating the explosive growth of AI.
But what made this announcement even more special was the heartfelt support it received; it was the cherry on top! With The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, standing alongside us, it was a moment that highlighted how Hypertec Cloud is not just participating in Canada’s AI strategy—we’re driving it forward.
Then came the SC24 conference in November in Atlanta, where we announced our partnership with Together AI. This collaboration will see the deployment of over 36,000 NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 GPUs in a next-generation cluster designed to accelerate AI model training and inference. With this partnership, it’s more than just building infrastructure—we’re creating the tools that will power the future of AI innovation.
To close out the year on a strong note, we secured an important partnership with VAST Data, a company that shares our commitment to tackling the challenges of scalability, reliability, and support. The full details of this collaboration will only be announced early next year, but it marks an exciting step toward enabling faster deployments of large AI clusters and meeting the needs of North America’s AI-driven companies. We know speed is the name of the game.
2025: A Clear Path Ahead
The most exciting part for me isn’t just what we’ve accomplished this year—it’s the foundation we’ve built for what’s to come. In its 40th anniversary year, Hypertec Group demonstrated once more its forward-thinking approach by sharpening its focus on AI Cloud Infrastructure, addressing the growing need for scalable, efficient, and sustainable AI infrastructure.
As we move into 2025, Hypertec Cloud is ready to build on this foundation. We’re focused on delivering innovative and sustainable AI infrastructure solutions that meet today’s needs while preparing for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
